Honey garlic chicken

I found original iteration on FaceBook, but I am not sure of the origin. If it looks familiar, let me know so I can give credit. Enjoy our additions.

Ingredients

  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • Or enough to cover the bottom of the crock pot; for the two of us, six is too many for our small crock pot, so we adjust.
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 stem fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Arrange chicken on the bottom of your slow cooker; set aside. (please look at the notes under chicken)
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, oregano and parsley; whisk until thoroughly combined.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cook for 4 to 5 hours on low, or 3 to 4 hours on high.
  5. Remove lid and transfer chicken to a serving plate.
  6. Move liquid to a sauce pan and bring to boil, add chicken broth with corn starch until mixture thickens.
  7. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
  8. Serve with rice.
