Crock Pot Honey Garlic Chicken
Found original iteration on FaceBook – not sure of origin; enjoy our additions
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or enough to cover the bottom of the crock pot; for the two of us, six is too many for our small crock pot)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ⅓ cup honey
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 stem fresh oregano
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Instructions
- Arrange chicken thighs on the bottom of your slow cooker; set aside. (please look at the notes section)
- In a mixing bowl, combine garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, oregano and parsley; whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken thighs.
- Close with a lid and cook for 4 to 5 hours on LOW, or 3 to 4 hours on HIGH.** (please look at the notes section)
- Remove lid and transfer chicken to a serving plate.
- Move liquid to a sauce pan and bring to boil, add chicken broth with corn starch until mixture thickens.
- Spoon the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve.
